Associate Professor Wen Shan Yew

Clinical Enzymologist leading large-scale programmes for Planetary Health

Wen Shan is co-inventor of multiple-patents in the space of sustainable cannabinoid biomanufacturing, alkaloid active pharmaceutical ingredients bioproduction, and industrial enzymes, and he leads the Singapore National Synthetic Biology R&D Programme in Synthetic Cannabinoid Biology. He is Associate Professor and Head of Department of Biochemistry at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is Director of the HH@NUS SINERGY Laboratory, Deputy Director of NUS Synthetic Biology for Clinical and Technological Innovation, and Principal Investigator of the WIL@NUS Corporate Laboratory.
